OUR PROGRAMS

At Hope Achievers (HAK), we offer a diverse range of programs designed to support young women throughout their personal and professional journeys. Our mission is to equip them with the guidance, skills, and opportunities they need to build a brighter future.

Mental Health Support

Our mental health promotion and support initiatives encourage protective factors and healthy behaviours that prevent mental disorders and reduce risk factors for their development. In slums, mental health issues are often caused by drug and substance abuse, lifestyle challenges, and poverty.

Young women and youth are particularly vulnerable. We organize activities involving guidance, storytelling, and openness to help participants navigate their struggles. We also provide referrals to rehabilitation centers and government facilities offering mental health services. Monitoring, evaluation, and assessment of young women suspected of having mental health issues are integral parts of this program.

HAK also offers counselling and protection to those who had undergone torture and violence from others and allows them later to seek for more help from the concerned authority.

We help young women and youth choose career paths and life plans based on their abilities and opportunities. Our programs include career advancement mentoring, leadership development, diversity mentorship, reverse mentoring for knowledge sharing and collaborative learning circles.

Vocational Training Skills

Providing vocational training helps young women and youth achieve decent work and offers long-term solutions to eradicate poverty in the community. Trainees can pursue skilled job opportunities or establish businesses aligned with their skills, fostering economic independence and job creation.
HAK currently offers training in tailoring, computer literacy, and hairdressing, with plans to expand further.

Urban Farming Skills

Our urban farming initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of urban poor communities through poverty alleviation, enhanced food security, and mitigation of natural resource degradation.

We train young women and youth to establish kitchen gardens, reducing their expenses on vegetables, improving their diets, and creating an additional income source.

Free Access to Child Development Center

HAK provides free services for children under three years from vulnerable families, including those of teen mothers. We offer a safe space, nutritious porridge, and fruits to support their health and development while enabling their mothers to engage in mentorship and training programs.

Prevention, Guidance, and Management of Early Pregnancies

Early pregnancy is a growing issue in informal settlements, driven by poverty, vulnerability, substance abuse, and lack of guidance. HAK addresses this by raising awareness, providing mentorship, and engaging young women and girls in productive activities to discourage early pregnancies.
Our goal is to reduce the high rate of early pregnancies by educating young women on their consequences and offering constructive alternatives.
